Privacy Policy

CheckThisQuote (“we”) helps you sanity-check vehicle repair estimates. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We aim to collect as little as possible.

What you enter

When you check an estimate, you provide line items, prices, and basic vehicle and location details. We use this to generate your analysis. We do not ask for your name, license plate, VIN, or contact details to run a check.

Photos you upload

If you upload a photo of an estimate, the image is sent to Anthropic (the AI provider) solely to read the line items off it, subject to Anthropic's API data policies. We don't store your photo — once the text is extracted, the image is gone from our side.

Anonymized quote data

To improve our reference pricing, we may retain an anonymized copy of submitted estimates (vehicle, region, line items, and prices — never anything that identifies you). By default we keep only the first 3 digits of your ZIP code. If you tick the optional “share my full ZIP” box, we store the full 5-digit ZIP to make local pricing more accurate — that's your choice, off by default. This aggregated data helps everyone get more accurate comparisons.

Email

If you ask us to email your report or you subscribe, we store your email to send it and, if you opt in, occasional tips. You can unsubscribe anytime.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links (for example, to buy a part) are affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See our affiliate disclosure.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics — cookieless, privacy-respecting page analytics — to understand which pages help people. It doesn't identify you and we don't sell your data.
